महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-118, verse-9

तत्रोदधेः कंचिदतीत्य देशं ख्यातं पृथिव्यां वनमाससाद ।
तप्तं सुरैर्यत्र तपः पुरस्तादिष्टं तथा पुण्यतमैर्नरेन्द्रैः ॥९॥
9. tatrodadheḥ kaṁcidatītya deśaṁ; khyātaṁ pṛthivyāṁ vanamāsasāda ,
taptaṁ surairyatra tapaḥ purastā;diṣṭaṁ tathā puṇyatamairnarendraiḥ.
9. tatra udadheḥ kaṃcit atītya deśam
khyātam pṛthivyām vanam āsasāda
taptam suraiḥ yatra tapaḥ purastāt
iṣṭam tathā puṇyatamaiḥ narendraiḥ
9. There, having traversed a certain region of the ocean, he reached a forest renowned on earth, where in ancient times, austerities (tapas) were performed by the gods and Vedic rituals (yajña) were offered by the most virtuous kings.
