महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-94, verse-24

धर्मवैतंसिको यस्तु पापात्मा पुरुषस्तथा ।
ददाति दानं विप्रेभ्यो लोकविश्वासकारकम् ॥२४॥
24. dharmavaitaṁsiko yastu pāpātmā puruṣastathā ,
dadāti dānaṁ viprebhyo lokaviśvāsakārakam.

24. But such a man, who is a hypocrite regarding (natural law) `dharma` and possesses a sinful nature (pāpātmā), gives (dāna) gifts to Brahmins to inspire public trust.
