महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-227, verse-30

अधर्मं धर्मकामो हि करोतीहाविचक्षणः ।
धर्मं चाधर्मसंकाशं शोचन्निव करोति सः ॥३०॥

30. adharmaṁ dharmakāmo hi karotīhāvicakṣaṇaḥ ,
dharmaṁ cādharmasaṁkāśaṁ śocanniva karoti saḥ.

30. Indeed, an undiscerning person who desires righteousness (dharma) commits unrighteousness (adharma) in this world. And he performs righteousness (dharma) that resembles unrighteousness (adharma), as if lamenting.
