महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-223, verse-19

नासूयत्यागमं कंचित्स्वं तपो नोपजीवति ।
अवन्ध्यकालो वश्यात्मा तस्मात्सर्वत्र पूजितः ॥१९॥
19. nāsūyatyāgamaṁ kaṁcitsvaṁ tapo nopajīvati ,
avandhyakālo vaśyātmā tasmātsarvatra pūjitaḥ.
19. na asūyati āgamam kañcit svam tapaḥ na upajīvati
avandhya-kālaḥ vaśya-ātmā tasmāt sarvatra pūjitaḥ
19. kañcit āgamam na asūyati svam tapaḥ na upajīvati
avandhya-kālaḥ vaśya-ātmā tasmāt sarvatra pūjitaḥ
19. He does not criticize any sacred tradition (āgama), nor does he exploit his own austerities (tapas). He makes good use of his time and has a controlled self (ātman). Therefore, he is honored everywhere.
