महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-16, verse-16

स्मर्तुमर्हसि कौरव्य दिष्टं तु बलवत्तरम् ।
अथ वा ते स्वभावोऽयं येन पार्थिव कृष्यसे ॥१६॥
16. smartumarhasi kauravya diṣṭaṁ tu balavattaram ,
atha vā te svabhāvo'yaṁ yena pārthiva kṛṣyase.

16. O descendant of Kuru, you should remember that destiny is indeed more powerful. Or perhaps, O king, this is your intrinsic nature (svabhāva) by which you are being drawn.
