सूत उवाच ।
यदधीतं पुरा सम्यग्द्विजश्रेष्ठ महात्मभिः ।
वैशंपायनविप्राद्यैस्तैश्चापि कथितं पुरा ॥४॥

yadadhītaṁ purā samyagdvijaśreṣṭha mahātmabhiḥ ,
vaiśaṁpāyanaviprādyaistaiścāpi kathitaṁ purā.

Sūta said: "That which was properly studied in ancient times by great souls, O best among the twice-born, and which was also narrated previously by sages headed by Vaiśampāyana..."
