महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-5, verse-1

शौनक उवाच ।
पुराणमखिलं तात पिता तेऽधीतवान्पुरा ।
कच्चित्त्वमपि तत्सर्वमधीषे लोमहर्षणे ॥१॥
1. śaunaka uvāca ,
purāṇamakhilaṁ tāta pitā te'dhītavānpurā ,
kaccittvamapi tatsarvamadhīṣe lomaharṣaṇe.
1. śaunakaḥ uvāca purāṇam akhilam tāta pitā te adhītavān
purā kaccit tvam api tat sarvam adhīṣe lomaharṣaṇe
1. Śaunaka said: "O dear son, your father formerly studied the entire Purāṇa. Do you also study all of that, O Lomaharṣaṇa?"
