महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-28, verse-21

महावीर्या महोत्साहास्तेन ते बहुधा क्षताः ।
रेजुरभ्रघनप्रख्या रुधिरौघप्रवर्षिणः ॥२१॥
21. mahāvīryā mahotsāhāstena te bahudhā kṣatāḥ ,
rejurabhraghanaprakhyā rudhiraughapravarṣiṇaḥ.

21. Though possessing great valor and energy, those serpents, wounded by him in many ways, shone like dense clouds, showering torrents of blood.
