महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-28, verse-15

ते विक्षिप्तास्ततो देवाः प्रजग्मुर्गरुडार्दिताः ।
नखतुण्डक्षताश्चैव सुस्रुवुः शोणितं बहु ॥१५॥
15. te vikṣiptāstato devāḥ prajagmurgaruḍārditāḥ ,
nakhatuṇḍakṣatāścaiva susruvuḥ śoṇitaṁ bahu.
15. te vikṣiptāḥ tataḥ devāḥ prajagmuḥ garuḍārditāḥ
nakhatuṇḍakṣatāḥ ca eva susruvuḥ śoṇitam bahu
15. Those gods, scattered and tormented by Garuda, then fled. Wounded by his claws and beak, they profusely bled much blood.
