महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-209, verse-8

ब्राह्मण उवाच ।
शतं सहस्रं विश्वं च सर्वमक्षयवाचकम् ।
परिमाणं शतं त्वेतन्नैतदक्षयवाचकम् ॥८॥
8. brāhmaṇa uvāca ,
śataṁ sahasraṁ viśvaṁ ca sarvamakṣayavācakam ,
parimāṇaṁ śataṁ tvetannaitadakṣayavācakam.
8. brāhmaṇaḥ uvāca śatam sahasram viśvam ca sarvam
akṣayavācakam parimāṇam śatam tu etat na etat akṣayavācakam
8. The brahmin said: "The words 'hundred', 'thousand', and 'universe' all refer to the imperishable. However, this count of 'a hundred' itself does not denote the imperishable."
