महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-209, verse-2

रूपेण वयसा चैव कन्दर्पेण च दर्पिताः ।
अयुक्तं कृतवत्यः स्म क्षन्तुमर्हसि नो द्विज ॥२॥
2. rūpeṇa vayasā caiva kandarpeṇa ca darpitāḥ ,
ayuktaṁ kṛtavatyaḥ sma kṣantumarhasi no dvija.
2. rūpeṇa vayasā ca eva kandarpeṇa ca darpitāḥ |
ayuktam kṛtavatyaḥ sma kṣantum arhasi naḥ dvija
2. Infatuated by our beauty, youth, and by the god of love (Kandarpa), we have done what was improper. O Brahmin, you ought to forgive us.
