महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-209, verse-4

अवध्यास्तु स्त्रियः सृष्टा मन्यन्ते धर्मचिन्तकाः ।
तस्माद्धर्मेण धर्मज्ञ नास्मान्हिंसितुमर्हसि ॥४॥
4. avadhyāstu striyaḥ sṛṣṭā manyante dharmacintakāḥ ,
tasmāddharmeṇa dharmajña nāsmānhiṁsitumarhasi.
4. avadhyāḥ tu striyaḥ sṛṣṭāḥ manyante dharmacintakāḥ
| tasmāt dharmeṇa dharmajña na asmān hiṃsitum arhasi
4. However, those who ponder natural law (dharma) consider women to be inviolable, having been created as such. Therefore, O knower of natural law (dharma), you ought not to harm us, in accordance with natural law (dharma).
