महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-202, verse-27

एवं सर्वा दिशो दैत्यौ जित्वा क्रूरेण कर्मणा ।
निःसपत्नौ कुरुक्षेत्रे निवेशमभिचक्रतुः ॥२७॥
27. evaṁ sarvā diśo daityau jitvā krūreṇa karmaṇā ,
niḥsapatnau kurukṣetre niveśamabhicakratuḥ.

27. Thus, having conquered all directions through cruel actions (karma), the two demons, unrivaled, established their residence in Kurukshetra.
