महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-202, verse-18

मथितैराश्रमैर्भग्नैर्विकीर्णकलशस्रुवैः ।
शून्यमासीज्जगत्सर्वं कालेनेव हतं यथा ॥१८॥
18. mathitairāśramairbhagnairvikīrṇakalaśasruvaiḥ ,
śūnyamāsījjagatsarvaṁ kāleneva hataṁ yathā.
18. mathitaiḥ āśramaiḥ bhagnaiḥ vikīrṇakalaśasruvaiḥ
śūnyam āsīt jagat sarvam kālena iva hatam yathā
18. The entire world became desolate, its hermitages (āśramas) destroyed and broken, with their pots and sacrificial ladles scattered, just as if it had been devastated by time.
