इत्यर्थमिष्यतेऽपत्यं तारयिष्यति मामिति ।

It is for this reason that an offspring is desired, with the thought, 'It will ferry me across.' Now, when that specific time (of distress) has arrived, you two should cross over (your troubles) by me, as if by a boat.
