महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-121, verse-11

भरद्वाजोऽपि भगवानारुरोह दिवं तदा ।
ततः पितृनियुक्तात्मा पुत्रलोभान्महायशाः ।
शारद्वतीं ततो द्रोणः कृपीं भार्यामविन्दत ॥११॥
11. bharadvājo'pi bhagavānāruroha divaṁ tadā ,
tataḥ pitṛniyuktātmā putralobhānmahāyaśāḥ ,
śāradvatīṁ tato droṇaḥ kṛpīṁ bhāryāmavindata.
11. bhāradvājaḥ api bhagavān ārurūha
divam tadā tataḥ pitṛ-niyukta-ātmā
putra-lobhāt mahāyaśāḥ śāradvatīṃ
tataḥ droṇaḥ kṛpīṃ bhāryām avindata
11. Then the revered (bhagavān) Bhāradvāja also ascended to heaven. After that, the highly renowned Droṇa, whose mind (ātman) was directed by his father, out of a desire for a son, took Kṛpī, the daughter of Śaradvat, as his wife.
