दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-3, verse-40

अर्धनिष्क्रान्त एवासौ युध्यमानो महासुरः ।
तया महासिना देव्या शिरश्छित्त्वा निपातितः ॥४०॥
40. ardhaniṣkrānta evāsau yudhyamāno mahāsuraḥ .
tayā mahāsinā devyā śiraśchittvā nipātitaḥ.
40. ardhaniṣkrāntaḥ eva asau yudhyamānaḥ mahāsuraḥ
tayā mahāsinā devyā śiras chittvā nipātitaḥ
40. That great demon, while still half-emerged and fighting, was struck down by the Goddess, who, with her great sword, severed his head.
