दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-3, verse-38

ऋषिरुवाच ।
एवमुक्त्वा समुत्पत्य सारूढा तं महासुरम् ।
पादेनाक्रम्य कण्ठे च शूलेनैनमताडयत् ॥३८॥
38. ṛṣiruvāca .
evamuktvā samutpatya sārūḍhā taṃ mahāsuram .
pādenākramya kaṇṭhe ca śūlenainamatāḍayat.
38. ṛṣiḥ uvāca evam uktvā samutpatya sā ārūḍhā tam
mahāsuram pādena ākramya kaṇṭhe ca śūlena enam atāḍayat
38. The Sage said: "Having spoken thus, she leaped up and mounted that great demon. Pressing her foot on his neck, she struck him with her spear."
