The manifestation (vilāsa) of the world (jagat) is eternally in the state of deep sleep (suṣupta-padam) itself, owing to its nature of being solely perfectly peaceful, uniform, and dense consciousness (cit). The states of creation (sarga), though seen, are unsubstantial, like lotuses (paṅkaja) within a rock; they never truly come into embodied existence.
