श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यथा ब्रह्माण्डकूश्माण्डमज्जामेर्वादिसंस्थितिः ।
तथा चिद्विल्वमज्जेयं ब्रह्माण्डादिजगत्स्थितिः ॥ ३ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Just as the arrangement of Mount Meru and other cosmic features exists within the pith of a cosmic gourd-like universe (brahmāṇḍa-kūṣmāṇḍa-majja), so also is this pith of the consciousness-bilva fruit (cit-bilva) the disposition of the universe (brahmāṇḍa) and the entire world.
