योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-41, verse-8

भेदकृद्वाक्प्रपञ्चोऽयमुपदेश्येषु कल्पितः ।

8. This proliferation of language (vākprapañca), which creates distinctions, is devised for the students. It is for the purpose of instructing those to be taught and for the understanding of the meaning of the scriptures.
