जायते म्रियते तद्धि नात्मनीदृग्विधा गुणाः ॥ ९ ॥

I consider the mind to be action (karma), which is the cause within those bodies. Indeed, it (the mind) is born and dies, but such qualities do not exist in the Self (ātman).
