वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-8, verse-7

प्रतिज्ञातस्त्वया वीर दण्डकारण्यवासिनाम् ।
ऋषीणां रक्षणार्थाय वधः संयति रक्षसाम् ॥७॥
7. pratijñātastvayā vīra daṇḍakāraṇyavāsinām ,
ṛṣīṇāṃ rakṣaṇārthāya vadhaḥ saṃyati rakṣasām.
