वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-12, verse-9

उद्भ्रान्तहृदयश्चापि विवर्णवनदो ऽभवत् ।
स धुर्यो वै परिस्पन्दन्युगचक्रान्तरं यथा ॥९॥
9. udbhrāntahṛdayaścāpi vivarṇavanado'bhavat ,
sa dhuryo vai parispandanyugacakrāntaraṃ yathā.
9. udbhrānta-hṛdayaḥ ca api vivarṇa-vadanaḥ abhavat
saḥ dhuryaḥ vai parispandan yuga-cakra-antaram yathā
9. ca api udbhrānta-hṛdayaḥ vivarṇa-vadanaḥ [saḥ rājā] abhavat
saḥ dhuryaḥ vai yuga-cakra-antaram parispandan yathā
9. And with an agitated heart and a pale face, he became like a beast of burden trembling between the yoke and the wheel.
