वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-55, verse-13

वसिष्ठे जपतां श्रेष्ठे तदद्भुतमिवाभवत् ।
तानि सर्वाणि दण्डेन ग्रसते ब्रह्मणः सुतः ॥१३॥
13. vasiṣṭhe japatāṃ śreṣṭhe tadadbhutamivābhavat ,
tāni sarvāṇi daṇḍena grasate brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ.
13. vasiṣṭhe japatām śreṣṭhe tat adbhutam iva abhavat
tāni sarvāṇi daṇḍena grasate brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ
13. japatām śreṣṭhe vasiṣṭhe tat adbhutam iva abhavat.
brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ tāni sarvāṇi daṇḍena grasate.
13. When the supreme sage among those who perform spiritual recitation (japa), Vasiṣṭha, was there, it became like a wonder. The son of Brahmā (Vasiṣṭha) devours all those (weapons) with his staff (daṇḍa).
