वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-40, verse-25

स्वपुरं चागमच्छ्रीमानिष्टयज्ञो महीपतिः ।
गङ्गायाश्चागमे राजा निश्चयं नाध्यगच्छत ॥२५॥
25. svapuraṃ cāgamacchrīmāniṣṭayajño mahīpatiḥ ,
gaṅgāyāścāgame rājā niścayaṃ nādhyagacchata.
25. sva-puram ca āgamat śrīmān iṣṭa-yajñaḥ mahī-patiḥ
gaṅgāyāḥ ca āgame rājā niścayam na adhyagacchat
25. śrīmān iṣṭa-yajñaḥ mahī-patiḥ ca sva-puram āgamat.
rājā ca gaṅgāyāḥ āgame niścayam na adhyagacchat.
25. And the glorious king, having completed the (yajña) sacrifice, returned to his own city. However, regarding the arrival of the Gaṅgā, the king could not find a clear resolution.
