वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-40, verse-18

कपिलेनाप्रमेयेन दग्धा हीमे महाबलाः ।
सलिलं नार्हसि प्राज्ञ दातुमेषां हि लौकिकम् ॥१८॥
18. kapilenāprameyena dagdhā hīme mahābalāḥ ,
salilaṃ nārhasi prājña dātumeṣāṃ hi laukikam.
18. kapilena aprameyena dagdhā hi ime mahābalāḥ
salilam na arhasi prājña dātum eṣām hi laukikam
18. prājña aprameyena kapilena hi ime mahābalāḥ
dagdhāḥ eṣām laukikam salilam dātum na arhasi
18. These immensely powerful ones were indeed incinerated by the immeasurable Kapila. O wise one, you should not offer them ordinary water (for the deceased).
