वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-32, verse-11

एतस्मिन्नेव काले तु चूली नाम महामुनिः ।
ऊर्ध्वरेताः शुभाचारो ब्राह्मं तप उपागमत् ॥११॥
11. etasminneva kāle tu cūlī nāma mahāmuniḥ ,
ūrdhvaretāḥ śubhācāro brāhmaṃ tapa upāgamat.
11. etasmin eva kāle tu cūlī nāma mahāmuniḥ |
ūrdhvaretāḥ śubhācāraḥ brāhmam tapaḥ upāgamat
11. etasmin kāle eva tu cūlī nāma mahāmuniḥ,
ūrdhvaretāḥ śubhācāraḥ (san),
brāhmam tapaḥ upāgamat.
11. Indeed, at that very time, a great sage (mahāmuni) named Cūlī, whose seminal energy flowed upwards (ūrdhvaretas) and whose conduct was pure, began to practice Brahmanical asceticism (tapas).
