That resulting measure (rāśyādi) should be understood as the duration, in months and other divisions, from conception until birth. If the lord of the conception ascendant (iṅgeśa) is located in the invisible half of the zodiac, then the traversed degrees of the Moon (indoḥ) should be included in the calculation.
