बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-4, verse-1

अहोरात्रस्य पूर्वान्त्यलोपाद् होराऽवशिष्यते ।
तस्य विज्ञानमात्रेण जातकर्मफलं वदेत् ॥१॥
1. ahorātrasya pūrvāntyalopād horā'vaśiṣyate .
tasya vijñānamātreṇa jātakarmaphalaṃ vadet.

1. After removing the first and last parts of a day and night, a horā remains. Merely by understanding this (horā), one should predict the results of a person's actions (karma) at the time of birth.
