मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-127, verse-23

गत्वा ब्रवीमि तं भद्रे तनयं त्वरया तव ।
परित्राणाय नागानां न त्याज्याः शरणागताः ॥२३॥
23. gatvā bravīmi taṃ bhadre tanayaṃ tvarayā tava .
paritrāṇāya nāgānāṃ na tyājyāḥ śaraṇāgatāḥ.

23. "O virtuous lady, I will go and quickly speak to your son. Those who have sought refuge (śaraṇāgata) must not be abandoned, for the protection of the Nāgas."
