पेष्यां यथाणुबीजं स्यादह्कुरस्तद्वदुच्यते ।
अङ्गानां च तथोत्पत्तिः पञ्चानामनुभागशः ॥३॥

3. peṣyāṃ yathāṇubījaṃ syādahkurastadvaducyate .
aṅgānāṃ ca tathotpattiḥ pañcānāmanubhāgaśaḥ.

aṅgānām ca tathā utpattiḥ pañcānām anubhāgaśaḥ

Just as a tiny seed within the embryonic disc (peṣyām) becomes a sprout (aṅkura), similarly, it is said, is the gradual origin of the five limbs.
