महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-72, verse-7

स मन्युवशमापन्नः स्वभावं दुष्टमास्थितः ।
स्वभावात्पापमन्वेति तृणैस्तुन्न इवोरगः ॥७॥
7. sa manyuvaśamāpannaḥ svabhāvaṁ duṣṭamāsthitaḥ ,
svabhāvātpāpamanveti tṛṇaistunna ivoragaḥ.
7. sa manyuvaśam āpannaḥ svabhāvam duṣṭam āsthitaḥ
svabhāvāt pāpam anveti tṛṇaiḥ tunnaḥ iva uragaḥ
7. He, having fallen under the influence of anger and embraced a corrupt intrinsic nature (svabhāva), then pursues wickedness (pāpa) from that very nature, just like a snake that has been pricked by blades of grass.
