महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-49, verse-15

हतास्तु पार्थेन नरप्रवीरा भूमौ युवानः सुषुपुः सुवेषाः ।
वसुप्रदा वासवतुल्यवीर्याः पराजिता वासवजेन संख्ये ।
सुवर्णकार्ष्णायसवर्मनद्धा नागा यथा हैमवताः प्रवृद्धाः ॥१५॥
15. hatāstu pārthena narapravīrā; bhūmau yuvānaḥ suṣupuḥ suveṣāḥ ,
vasupradā vāsavatulyavīryāḥ; parājitā vāsavajena saṁkhye ,
suvarṇakārṣṇāyasavarmanaddhā; nāgā yathā haimavatāḥ pravṛddhāḥ.
15. hatāḥ tu pārthena narapravīrāḥ bhūmau yuvānaḥ
suṣupuḥ suveṣāḥ vasupradāḥ vāsavatulyavīryāḥ
parājitāḥ vāsavajena saṅkhye suvarṇakārṣṇāyasavarmanaddhāḥ

15. Indeed, those excellent young warriors, finely attired, liberal bestowers of wealth, and possessing valor equal to Indra, were slain by the son of Pṛthā (Abhimanyu) and defeated in battle by the son of Vāsava (Abhimanyu). They lay on the ground, armored in gold and black iron, like colossal Himalayan elephants.
