महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-1, verse-22

आसं युधिष्ठिरस्याहं पुरा प्राणसमः सखा ।
इति वक्ष्यामि राजानं यदि मामनुयोक्ष्यते ॥२२॥

22. āsaṁ yudhiṣṭhirasyāhaṁ purā prāṇasamaḥ sakhā ,
iti vakṣyāmi rājānaṁ yadi māmanuyokṣyate.

22. I was formerly a friend to Yudhiṣṭhira, as dear as life itself. I will tell this to the king if he questions me.
