महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-8, verse-19

यावदेव परिद्यूना यावच्छोकपरायणाः ।
यावन्मित्रविहीनाश्च तावच्छक्या मतं मम ॥१९॥
19. yāvadeva paridyūnā yāvacchokaparāyaṇāḥ ,
yāvanmitravihīnāśca tāvacchakyā mataṁ mama.
19. yāvat eva paridyūnāḥ yāvat śokaparāyaṇāḥ
yāvat mitravihīnāḥ ca tāvat śakyāḥ matam mama
19. As long as they are deeply distressed, as long as they are absorbed in grief, and as long as they are without friends, for so long they are vulnerable — this is my opinion.
