बृहदश्व उवाच ।
तेभ्यः प्रतिज्ञाय नलः करिष्य इति भारत ।
अथैनान्परिपप्रच्छ कृताञ्जलिरवस्थितः ॥१॥

tebhyaḥ pratijñāya nalaḥ kariṣya iti bhārata ,
athainānparipapraccha kṛtāñjaliravasthitaḥ.

1. Bṛhadaśva said: "O Bhārata, Nala, having promised them, 'I will do it,' then stood with folded hands and inquired of them."
