महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-279, verse-10

अश्वपतिरुवाच ।
सुखं च दुःखं च भवाभवात्मकं यदा विजानाति सुताहमेव च ।
न मद्विधे युज्यति वाक्यमीदृशं विनिश्चयेनाभिगतोऽस्मि ते नृप ॥१०॥
10. aśvapatiruvāca ,
sukhaṁ ca duḥkhaṁ ca bhavābhavātmakaṁ; yadā vijānāti sutāhameva ca ,
na madvidhe yujyati vākyamīdṛśaṁ; viniścayenābhigato'smi te nṛpa.
10. aśvapatiḥ uvāca | sukham ca duḥkham ca
bhava-abhava-ātmakam yadā vijānāti sutā
aham eva ca | na mat-vidhe yujyati vākyam
īdṛśam viniścayena abhigataḥ asmi te nṛpa
10. Aśvapati said: "When one truly understands that both happiness and sorrow are intrinsically linked to existence and non-existence, such a statement is not appropriate for a person like me. O king, I have come to you with a definite resolution."
