महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-253, verse-7

तेषां तु गोमायुरनल्पघोषो निवर्ततां वाममुपेत्य पार्श्वम् ।
प्रव्याहरत्तं प्रविमृश्य राजा प्रोवाच भीमं च धनंजयं च ॥७॥
7. teṣāṁ tu gomāyuranalpaghoṣo; nivartatāṁ vāmamupetya pārśvam ,
pravyāharattaṁ pravimṛśya rājā; provāca bhīmaṁ ca dhanaṁjayaṁ ca.
7. teṣām tu gomāyuḥ analpaghoṣaḥ
nivartatām vāmam upetya pārśvam
pravyāharat tam pravimṛśya rājā
provāca bhīmam ca dhanañjayam ca
7. But among them, a jackal with a loud cry approached their left side and cried out, "Let them turn back!" The king, having carefully considered that (omen), then spoke to Bhima and Dhananjaya (Arjuna).
