महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-191, verse-2

स तानुवाच ।
अस्ति खलु राजर्षिरिन्द्रद्युम्नो नाम क्षीणपुण्यस्त्रिदिवात्प्रच्युतः ।
कीर्तिस्ते व्युच्छिन्नेति ।
स मामुपातिष्ठत् ।
अथ प्रत्यभिजानाति मां भवानिति ॥२॥
2. sa tānuvāca ,
asti khalu rājarṣirindradyumno nāma kṣīṇapuṇyastridivātpracyutaḥ ,
kīrtiste vyucchinneti ,
sa māmupātiṣṭhat ,
atha pratyabhijānāti māṁ bhavāniti.
2. sa tān uvāca asti khalu rājarṣiḥ indradyumnaḥ
nāma kṣīṇapuṇyaḥ tridivāt pracyutaḥ
kīrtiḥ te vyucchinnā iti sa mām upātiṣṭhat
atha pratyabhijānāti mām bhavān iti
2. He (Mārkaṇḍeya) said to them: 'Indeed, there is a royal sage named Indradyumna, whose merit (puṇya) was exhausted, and who had fallen from heaven. As his fame was extinguished, he approached me and asked, "Does Your Honor recognize me?"'
