Even if the social classes (varṇāḥ) have fulfilled their prescribed duties (kṛtakṛtyāḥ), yet if proper conduct (vṛttam) is not maintained, then, O best of serpents (Nāgendra), a powerful intermixture (saṃkaraḥ) is observed.
