महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-124, verse-18

संस्तम्भयित्वा च्यवनो जुहुवे मन्त्रतोऽनलम् ।
कृत्यार्थी सुमहातेजा देवं हिंसितुमुद्यतः ॥१८॥
18. saṁstambhayitvā cyavano juhuve mantrato'nalam ,
kṛtyārthī sumahātejā devaṁ hiṁsitumudyataḥ.

18. After paralyzing (his arm), Chyavana, possessed of immense power, offered oblations into the fire with sacred formulas (mantras). He was eager to harm the god (Indra) and create a Kṛtyā (a magical being for destructive purposes).
