महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-15, chapter-26, verse-6

पुरा प्रजापतिसमो राजासीदकुतोभयः ।
सहस्रचित्य इत्युक्तः शतयूपपितामहः ॥६॥
6. purā prajāpatisamo rājāsīdakutobhayaḥ ,
sahasracitya ityuktaḥ śatayūpapitāmahaḥ.

6. In ancient times, there was a king, fearless from all quarters, who was equal to Prajapati. He was called Sahasracitya, and his grandfather had performed a hundred Vedic rituals (yajña).
