महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-80, verse-22

इत्येवमुक्त्वा नृपते धनंजयसुतो नृपः ।
उपस्पृश्याभवत्तूष्णीं प्रायोपेतो महामतिः ॥२२॥
22. ityevamuktvā nṛpate dhanaṁjayasuto nṛpaḥ ,
upaspṛśyābhavattūṣṇīṁ prāyopeto mahāmatiḥ.

upaspṛśya abhavat tūṣṇīm prāyopetaḥ mahāmatiḥ

22. O King, having spoken thus, the great-minded king, son of Arjuna, having undertaken the vow of fasting unto death (prāyopaveśa), purified himself and became silent.
