महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-98, verse-15

अद्यप्रभृति चैवैतल्लोके संप्रचरिष्यति ।
पुण्यदानेषु सर्वेषु परमक्षय्यमेव च ॥१५॥
15. adyaprabhṛti caivaitalloke saṁpracariṣyati ,
puṇyadāneṣu sarveṣu paramakṣayyameva ca.

15. From today onwards, this (practice of donating umbrellas and sandals) will indeed become prevalent in the world. And in all acts of meritorious giving (dāna), it will be supremely everlasting.
