त्रिविष्टपे पुण्यतमं स्थानं प्राप्नोति पार्थिवः ।
कोशक्षये त्वमित्राणां वशं कौसल्य गच्छति ॥१८॥

18. asaṁśayaṁ puṇyaśīlaḥ prāpnoti paramāṁ gatim ,

kośakṣaye tvamitrāṇāṁ vaśaṁ kausalya gacchati.

Without a doubt, a virtuous person attains the supreme state. A king (pārthiva) achieves the most meritorious position in heaven. But, O Kausalya, when his treasury is depleted, he falls under the control of his enemies.
