महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-14, verse-8

तत्रैव वध्यः सोऽस्माकं दुराचारोऽम्ब ते सुतः ।
धर्मराजाज्ञया चैव स्थिताः स्म समये तदा ॥८॥
8. tatraiva vadhyaḥ so'smākaṁ durācāro'mba te sutaḥ ,
dharmarājājñayā caiva sthitāḥ sma samaye tadā.
8. tatra eva vadhyaḥ saḥ asmākam durācāraḥ amba te
sutaḥ dharmarājājñayā ca eva sthitāḥ sma samaye tadā
8. amba te durācāraḥ sutaḥ saḥ asmākam tatra eva vadhyaḥ

8. O mother, your ill-behaved son was indeed deserving of death by us right then and there. We then remained committed to the command of the king of righteousness (dharma) at that appointed time.
