महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-14, verse-14

भीमसेन उवाच ।
अन्यस्यापि न पातव्यं रुधिरं किं पुनः स्वकम् ।
यथैवात्मा तथा भ्राता विशेषो नास्ति कश्चन ॥१४॥
14. bhīmasena uvāca ,
anyasyāpi na pātavyaṁ rudhiraṁ kiṁ punaḥ svakam ,
yathaivātmā tathā bhrātā viśeṣo nāsti kaścana.
14. bhīmasenaḥ uvāca anyasya api na pātavyam rudhiram kim punaḥ
svakam yathā eva ātmā tathā bhrātā viśeṣaḥ na asti kaścana
14. bhīmasenaḥ uvāca anyasya api rudhiram na pātavyam kim punaḥ
svakam yathā eva ātmā tathā bhrātā kaścana viśeṣaḥ na asti
14. Bhīmasena said: One should not drink the blood of another, let alone one's own kin's blood! For a brother is just like one's own self (ātman); there is absolutely no distinction.
