महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-18, verse-4

सोऽकल्प्यमाने भागे तु कृत्तिवासा मखेऽमरैः ।
तरसा भागमन्विच्छन्धनुरादौ ससर्ज ह ॥४॥
4. so'kalpyamāne bhāge tu kṛttivāsā makhe'maraiḥ ,
tarasā bhāgamanvicchandhanurādau sasarja ha.

4. When the gods did not allot him a share in the Vedic ritual (makha), Shiva (Kṛttivāsā), seeking his portion by force, indeed first fashioned a bow.
