महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-8, verse-15

नापश्यत प्रसुप्तं वै भुजगं तिर्यगायतम् ।
पदा चैनं समाक्रामन्मुमूर्षुः कालचोदिता ॥१५॥
15. nāpaśyata prasuptaṁ vai bhujagaṁ tiryagāyatam ,
padā cainaṁ samākrāmanmumūrṣuḥ kālacoditā.

padā ca enam samākrāmat mumūrṣuḥ kālacoditā
15. She did not see the sleeping snake lying across (her path). Impelled by fate, and as if desirous of death, she stepped on it with her foot.
